This week I’m keeping it tight and practical so your dog doesn’t spend dinner laser‑staring Aunt Linda like a slot machine. You control the patterns. Set them now, enjoy the meal later.

Dinner Table Begging: The Real Cause (and the Fix)

Begging isn’t a mystery—it’s a pattern you’ve taught. If food ever “rained” from the table, the stare‑down got rewarded. Here’s how to reset that pattern fast:

Humans Eat First. Let your dog watch you eat. When you’re done, then feed the dog. That single order shift clarifies who leads the routine.
Never Pay the Beg. No crumbs, no “just this once,” no licking plates. If begging never pays, begging fades.
Give a Job. Park your dog on a bed/place while you plate the food, carry dishes, and sit. If they get up, calmly return them to place. End the job with a clear release word.

Timing Matters: Mark what you like and pay it within a beat—about a second and a half. Dogs live in the now; late rewards pay the wrong behavior. Same with corrections: catch the yellow light (thinking about getting up), not the red.

Pro move for kids and guests: Before you serve, set one rule: “Please ignore the dog while we eat. No food from the table, period.” Consistency beats talent.

Scheduling Private Lessons

I do NOT book ahead of the current week

I do my weekly schedule based on your locations/availability - this reduces chances of getting into traffic delays between lessons plus maximizes the amount of dogs I can help on a daily basis.

Please give me more than one option when giving your availability if possible. Makes organizing the calendar much easier. You can also give priority times if you wish.

Sunday evening when I send out the events please confirm/accept the invite if you can.

Priority and Packages

This does not apply to new clients New clients do NOT pay before lessons if we have not met

Clients with packages will be scheduled first. Those without packages will fill in open spots on a location basis. If there is no space in the calendar for the week, I will add you to a waiting list for last minute cancellations.

Instructions

•The cut off is (Sunday) at 6pm IF you would like to train this week and list a few dates and times that work for you. I will respond to you by Sunday at 8 PM with your confirmed day and time via Google Event. Once you receive the “Google Event” email please hit “accept” so that I know you have received it.
**Please allow for a potential delay of 10-15 mins arrival time based on traffic and lessons going longer - especially late in the day.
