Hey y'all, Tommy Stark here—your Orange County dog trainer ringin' in 2026 with some excitin' updates from right here on the coast. A fresh year brings new chances for adventures with your dogs, and I've got the latest on classes, privates, the dog park, pack walks, and more. Let's jump in and set the tone for a tail-waggin' year ahead!  

📅 **What's Happenin' in 2026**  

I'm lookin' forward to a full year helpin' dogs and their folks shine brighter than ever.  

- **Group Classes Startin' Soon**: My new beginner obedience series kicks off next Saturday, January 10th, at Dee Dog Park. It's all about buildin' solid foundations in a relaxed group vibe. Spots are goin' quick for that hands-on guidance—reply to this or visit DogTrainerOC.com to claim yours!

- **Private Sessions Open**: Need focused help with puppy manners, reactivity, or fine-tunin' skills? I've got slots for one-on-one training customized for you and your dog. Easy schedulin' around South OC—drop me a line to talk details.  

- **Dee Dog Park Memberships**: Perfect time to join if you're not already in! This private park is a haven for off-leash play, safe socialization, and even hosts some of my classes. Check @ocdogpark on Facebook or message me for membership info.  

🚶‍♂️ **Pack Walk Update**  

The Pack Walk of OC is a great way to get dogs out socializin' and explorin'. No dates posted yet for the new year, so head over to ocpackwalks.com to stay in the loop for the next one—they tend to announce 'em as they come!

🏖️ **Dog Spot to Visit: Balboa Pier in Newport Beach**  

Kick off the year with ocean views and fresh air! Balboa Pier welcomes leashed dogs on the beach outside peak hours (before 10 AM or after 6 PM). Wander the pier, sniff the sea breeze, and enjoy that classic coastal charm. Early mornings are prime for avoidin' crowds and lettin' your dog unwind.

📰 **Positive Dog News: Three New Breeds Recognized by AKC**  

Startin' the year on a high note—the American Kennel Club welcomed three fresh faces to their official lineup as of January 1st: the cuddly Russian Tsvetnaya Bolonka (a curly-coated toy breed), the rugged Basset Fauve de Bretagne (a French hound with history), and the energetic Teddy Roosevelt Terrier (named after the president!). Now at 205 recognized breeds, this opens doors for shows and spotlights these unique dogs. If you're dreamin' of a new addition, these might just steal your heart.
