🥾 Today @ 3:30 PM — Pack Walk

On leash. On time. On mission.

Arrive: 3:20 PM for check‑in and calm starts
Leash & Collar: 6‑ft leash, flat collar or martingale (no flexi leashes)
Bring: high‑value treats, water for you + your dog, poop bags
Energy rule: calm first, movement second; no nose‑to‑nose greetings at the start line

Tip: keep treats in your pocket so rewards come from you, not from a bag

Micro‑drill before we roll (2 minutes):
5 reps of Name → Eye Contact → Mark (“Yes!”) → Treat
5 reps of Loose Leash → Stop → Dog sits → Mark → Treat

🎯 Training Focus of the Week — “Calm at the Start Line”

Dogs learn in chains: A → B → C. If A (calm) reliably leads to B (movement) and C (access to the environment), they’ll choose calm on their own. Use that!

3‑Step Start‑Line Routine

Park & Pause: stand still for 10–15 seconds. Breathe.
Default Sit: no cue. If your dog stands, reset. Mark “Yes!” when they sit.
Green‑Light Step: take 1 step forward on a loose leash. If the leash tightens, red‑light: stop, wait for slack, mark, go again.

Why it works: it makes calm → movement the trigger chain your dog wants to repeat.

🧩 60‑Second Home Drill — “Doorway Downs”

Stand 2 ft from a closed door.
Cue Down. Count a calm 3‑Mississippi. Mark, reward on the floor.
Touch the doorknob; if the dog pops up, calmly reset and repeat.
Goal:3 calm downs in a row before the door opens.
This carries straight into today’s walk at busy trailheads.

🚦 Leashwork Mini‑Progression (for today’s walk)

Green/Red Light: move on slack, stop on tight.
Quarter‑Turn Clears: quarter‑turn away from pressure → mark the moment the leash goes slack.
Figure‑8s: 4 slow figure‑8s around two cones/trees to rehearse inside turns.

Passing Protocol: you step between your dog and distractions; keep 2 ft bubble; breathe out as you pass.

Scheduling Private Lessons

I do NOT book ahead of the current week

I do my weekly schedule based on your locations/availability - this reduces chances of getting into traffic delays between lessons plus maximizes the amount of dogs I can help on a daily basis.

Please give me more than one option when giving your availability if possible. Makes organizing the calendar much easier. You can also give priority times if you wish.

Sunday evening when I send out the events please confirm/accept the invite if you can.

Priority and Packages

This does not apply to new clients New clients do NOT pay before lessons if we have not met

Clients with packages will be scheduled first. Those without packages will fill in open spots on a location basis. If there is no space in the calendar for the week, I will add you to a waiting list for last minute cancellations.

Instructions

•The cut off is (Sunday) at 6pm IF you would like to train this week and list a few dates and times that work for you. I will respond to you by Sunday at 8 PM with your confirmed day and time via Google Event. Once you receive the “Google Event” email please hit “accept” so that I know you have received it.
**Please allow for a potential delay of 10-15 mins arrival time based on traffic and lessons going longer - especially late in the day.
